Munich 48°08′N — Cape Agulhas 34°49′S
Two oceans.One current.
Software architecture and AI systems, built in Munich. And a second bearing pointing south: AGULHAS.ONE is being built as a working current between European and African technology.
The connection already exists. It’s water.
The Agulhas Current runs south along Africa’s east coast — the strongest current in the southern hemisphere. At the tip of the continent it turns back on itself, but rings of warm water break away and leak into the South Atlantic. That leakage feeds the overturning circulation that carries heat north, toward Europe.
Africa has been warming Europe for a very long time. Technology hasn’t caught up with the water yet. That’s the work.
Convergence
AI, engineering, and strategy designed as one system — not bolted together after the fact.
Precision
Clean architecture. Decisions that hold up under load and over years, not just at the demo.
Momentum
From concept to production in weeks, not quarters. Shipped beats theorised.
What’s taking shape here
Software Architecture
Full-stack platforms from concept to production. Next.js, Python, cloud-native infrastructure built to scale from the first commit.
AI & Intelligent Systems
LLM integration, RAG pipelines, workflow automation. Practical AI that ships — not slide decks about AI.
Data & Decision Intelligence
Real-time dashboards, automated reporting, BI infrastructure. The clarity to decide faster and be right more often.
Fractional CTO
Senior technical leadership without the full-time hire. Architecture reviews, team scaling, a roadmap that survives contact with reality.
What this is, and what it isn’t.
AGULHAS.ONE is one architect in Munich with ten years of production systems behind him, and a deliberate second bearing pointing south. It’s a bridge under construction — not a bridge being sold. There is no wall of client logos on this page, because it would have to be invented. When the network is real, it gets named.
Client work out of Munich: architecture, AI systems, fractional CTO. This is the part that already works.
Engineering collaboration with teams in Southern Africa. Partnership, not outsourcing — the current runs both ways.
Founders, engineers, and companies at either end of the line. If you’re building on one side, the other side is worth knowing.
This site speaks English, German, and Afrikaans. That isn’t decoration — it’s the shape of the network.

Software architect and AI engineer, ten-plus years building production systems. I work as a fractional CTO for companies that need senior technical leadership without assembling an executive team to get it. Based in Munich — with the compass pointed south.
Let’s talk about what you’re building.
